To keep Christmas as fun and Covid save as possible, we turned the Geelong Christmas Tree into an interactive wonderland using Remotey©, a web-based program created by us at Watch This Space.
To interact with the tree, people simply opened a URL on their phone. From here they had complete control over all the tree’s lights and animations.
Once happy with their lighting design, users could take a photo and share it directly to social media with the hashtag #geelongchristmastree
From a design perspective, the interface needed to be fun, playful and engaging for all ages. The use of simple illustrations made it easy to use bright colours to customise each tree element.
